This weekend for me was about trying on different sizes of vision. Ironically, my Friday morning I was at the eye doctor to have an eye exam. I am moderately far-sighted in my left eye, meaning I have no trouble seeing far away. (For the record, I really don’t have trouble seeing close up at this point either, but my prescription is meant to help my eyes not work so hard reading or on the computer for up-close work).
In the last couple years, I have had a worsening of my far-sightedness. If you “louise hay it” ……ie, if you look up the metaphysical meaning (or emotional/mental connection/cause) of far-sightedness it says “Fear of the present” and if you look at near-sightedness it says “Fear of the future.” Now I know this may be an oversimplification but it is interesting to think about. (Her book – You can heal your life is a must read)
SO: Are you someone who thinks down range? Are you someone who is short sighted? Are you both and it just depends on what area of your life you are talking about?
That was one of my a-ha’s from this weekend, was thinking about VISION in all areas/topics of our life. Sometimes it is serving you to be only here in the moment or present. Other times having a long range vision can help steer you through some hard times that otherwise would seem overwhelming. Both can be necessary. The other option would be, are you always thinking or focusing on your past. (I am not sure metaphysically what is suggested by this mindset for the health of our eyes)
Either way, if you are struggling in a certain area of your life. Try on a different sized vision. Maybe you need to think about the bigger picture? Maybe you need to focus only on today? How will you know? You will know by zooming in or out and feeling what feels lighter or like a weight comes off.
I am having some new challenges this first quarter of the year and a helpful point of view for me is to think about what I ultimately want to create (down range) and then use that to help me navigate and keep me positive in the present.
SO try on a different size vision today. It may lighten your load! :)
